Good Friday 2009

“God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

 

Good Friday is the day that Christians around the world remember the day that Jesus was crucified on a cross. It is a time for somber reflection on the death of Jesus Christ, our sin, and the deep love that God has for us in sending His Son to die for us. We are cancelling Friday Nights in Ferndale this week to remember Good Friday. Many local churches will be having Good Friday services throughout the day and we would encourage you to attend one of them. Some of the Friday Night crew will be helping out at the Good Friday service at Centerpointe Community Church , located at 587 Gatliff Ave, Eureka CA 95503. The service begins at 7:00 pm and will last about one hour. You are welcome to attend, whether you are a Christian or not. For those who are wondering, Centerpointe will be providing child care.

Mars Hill Church in Seattle will also be live webcasting their Good Friday and Easter services. Visit their site for more information.

Friday Nights in Ferndale 04/03/09

Hello friends!

We would love for you to come join us Friday, April 3rd, at 244 Berding Street in Ferndale for an evening of friendship, community, challenging Biblical teaching and discussion, prayer for one another, and the best cup of coffee you’ll find anywhere around. Dinner/coffee time begins at 6:00. 

For our teaching/discussion time, we will be watching a video of a sermon by a South African pastor named PJ Smyth . This talk was given at the Acts 29 church planting bootcamp that Martin and I attended last month and I am excited to be able to watch and discuss it with you.The topic is “The Call to Proclaim The Gospel.” Though this talk was given to a group of church planters and pastors, I think it will be really beneficial to us all.

Childcare will be available during the sermon and prayer time.
