Trial: Temptation From Sin

In the fourth sermon of the Trial: 8 Witnesses from 1&2 Peter series, Pastor Mark Driscoll of Mars Hill Church asks the question “Where have you placed your hope?” 1 Peter 1:13-21 roots our hope in the grace given by Jesus, calling us to lives of obedience and bringing our faith to life in Him. We will also look at six practical areas where hope can be cultivated in resistance to the temptation to sin.

We would love for you to come join us Friday, February 13th, at 244 Berding Street in Ferndale for the fourth message in Mars Hill Church’s Trial: 8 Witnesses from 1&2 Peter series, “Temptation from Sin.” Dinner begins at 6:00, teaching begins around 7:00. Childcare will be available. Last week, we did a great job getting started on time, which allowed for a great discussion/prayer time together. Again, please do your best to get there as early as possible so we can enjoy your company. Thanks everyone!

Trial: Pt 1- Trial & Sin

In the first sermon of the Trial: 8 Witnesses from 1&2 Peter series, Pastor Mark Driscoll of Mars Hill Church tells us that Peter’s big idea is that Christians are “exiles” on mission for Jesus in a world that is not their home. Consequently, their life is filled with trial. God uses trial for much good in us, for us, and through us.

Come join us Friday, January 23rd, at 244 Berding Street in Ferndale for the first message in Mars Hill Church’s Trial: 8 Witnesses from 1&2 Peter series, “Trial and Sin.” Dinner begins at 6:00, teaching begins around 7:00. Childcare will be available.

Fall: God Judges

God is personal and initiated a relationship of love and communication with us. In blessing creation and our first parents, we saw the generous nature of our gracious God. In sum, God is perfectly perfect. Subsequently, the human rebellion against God that began with the first sin is altogether foolish, tragic, and mad. As we study the doctrine of the fall this week, it is incredibly important that we see things, as much as possible, from the vantage point of God so as to sympathize with him over and above sinners, including ourselves. Simply put, what would you do if you were God and were treated as he has been?

Join us on May 2nd at 244 Berding Street in Ferndale for the fifth message in Mars Hill Church‘s Doctrine: What Christians Should Believe series, entitled Fall: God Judges. Dinner begins at 6:00, teaching begins around 7:00. Childcare will be available.
