Friday Nights in Ferndale- 04/24/09- Suffering to Learn

We would love for you to come join us Friday, April 24th, at 244 Berding Street in Ferndale for an evening of friendship, community, challenging Biblical teaching and discussion, prayer for one another, and some killer coffee (Disclaimer: The coffee will not actually kill you). Dinner/coffee time begins at 6:00.

For our teaching/discussion time, we will be tuning into the Trial: 8 Witnesses from 1&2 Peter series from Mars Hill Church in Seattle. This week we’ll be looking at 1 Peter 3:18-22, one of the most difficult passages to interpret in all of the Bible. In this sermon, Pastor Mark Driscoll preaches on what we can learn from suffering, the dangers and reality of hell, and principles of interpreting scripture.

Childcare will be available during the sermon and prayer time.

How should it be used? Is it true? In this sermon, Pastor Mark Driscoll answers these and many other questions.

Dinner begins at 6:00, teaching and discussion begins around 7:00. Childcare will be available. As I mentioned last week, we are really going to try and get started as close to 7 as we can, as that allows for more discussion/prayer time together. Revelation: God Speaks

No one is born with a clear comprehension of who God is. So, in an effort to know about God, various philosophers and religious leaders have presented their speculations about God with seemingly endless and contradictory declarations.

God has chosen to lift the fog of human speculation with divine revelation. Whereas speculation is the human attempt to comprehend God, revelation is God’s communication to humanity with clarity that is otherwise impossible. The object of that revelation is the sixty-six books of Scripture.
